Wall of Honor Guide

What Is the Wall of Honor?

When a hero reaches 5 stars, they are added to the Wall of Honor. You access it through the corresponding troop-type building (Tank Center, Aircraft Center, or Missile Center), which must be level 20.

Once unlocked, you can spend hero shards to level up that hero's Wall of Honor entry. Each hero provides a specific bonus that applies to all heroes of the same troop type — not just the hero being upgraded.

Why This Matters

Wall of Honor bonuses stack across your entire troop type. If you upgrade 5 Tank heroes' walls, all 5 bonuses apply to every Tank hero in your squad. This is one of the most powerful passive buff systems in the game.

How Upgrades Work

  • No level cap — you can upgrade indefinitely
  • Every 50 levels, the hero-specific bonus increases by 0.25% to 1.00% depending on the hero
  • You can use hero-specific shards or generic purple shards (universal)
  • Purple shards work on any hero — these are your most flexible resource

Shard Refund on Promotion

When you promote a hero from SSR to UR (e.g. Mason or Violet), all shards invested in their Wall of Honor are refunded. Do not hesitate to invest in SSR heroes that you plan to promote later — you lose nothing.

Bonus Types Explained

Each hero gives one of four bonus types:

Bonus TypeWhat It Does
AttackIncreases damage output for all heroes of that troop type
DefenceReduces damage taken for all heroes of that troop type
HealthIncreases HP for all heroes of that troop type
Troop LoadIncreases resource carrying capacity (gathering, not combat)

Attack and Defence bonuses are the most impactful for combat. Health is solid but secondary. Troop Load is a utility bonus — useful for gatherers but not a priority for your fighting squads.

Tank Upgrade Priority

  1. Kimberly — +0.50% Attack. Your main DPS and the strongest attack bonus for Tanks. Always first
  2. Mason — +0.50% Attack (UR) or +0.25% (SSR). Second attack source. Shards refund on promotion so invest early
  3. Marshall — +0.50% Defence. Protects the whole squad
  4. Stetmann — +0.50% Defence. Stacks with Marshall for strong damage reduction
  5. Murphy — +0.50% Health. Keeps your front line alive longer
  6. Williams — +0.50% Health. Secondary health buffer
  7. Others — lower priority. Richard and Farhad give +0.25% Defence which is decent but half the rate. Skip Troop Load heroes unless you actively gather
Why Attack First?

Attack bonuses increase your damage output across every fight — PvP, rallies, PvE, events. Defence and Health keep you alive, but dead enemies deal zero damage. Prioritise offence, then layer in survivability.

  4. Lucius — +0.50% Defence. Doubles down on squad durability
  5. Carlie — +0.50% Health. Front-line survivability
  6. Maxwell — +0.25% Attack. Decent but half the rate of Morrison/Schuyler

  6. Others — lower priority

General Upgrade Strategy

The Priority Rule

For every troop type, follow this order:

  1. Attack heroes first — the +0.50% heroes are always top priority
  2. Defence heroes second — damage reduction keeps your squad fighting longer
  3. Health heroes third — more HP is good but less impactful than attack or defence per percentage point
  4. Troop Load heroes last — only if you actively gather resources on the world map

Shard Management

Shard TypeBest Use
Hero-specific shards (surplus)Use on that hero's wall once they are 5-star. Free bonus with no trade-off
Generic purple shardsAlways use on your highest-priority attack hero first
SSR hero shards (pre-promotion)Safe to invest — shards refund when the hero promotes to UR

Focus vs. Spread

Focus your purple shards on one hero at a time. Getting one hero to level 200 gives you a larger total bonus than spreading across four heroes at level 50 each. The bonus increases are linear, so there is no mathematical advantage to spreading — but there is a practical advantage to seeing bigger stat jumps sooner.

Once your top priority hero is well-invested (level 200+), start rotating purple shards to the second priority hero.

How Wall of Honor Interacts with Other Systems

Wall of Honor bonuses stack with everything:

  • Troop type bonuses from mono squads (+20%)
  • Hero skills and exclusive weapons
  • Gear stats
  • Presidential buffs
  • Research bonuses

This multiplicative stacking is what makes Wall of Honor so powerful at higher levels. A +2% attack bonus from Wall of Honor gets amplified by all your other multipliers.

Common Mistakes

  1. Spreading shards evenly — focus on attack heroes first, not a little bit of everything
  2. Ignoring SSR heroes — their wall bonuses still count and shards refund on promotion
  3. Prioritising Troop Load — it only helps gathering, not combat. Save it for last
  4. Forgetting to check the Wall — surplus shards from hero summons sit unused if you do not manually invest them
  5. Not accessing it through the right building — Tank Wall is in the Tank Center, Aircraft in the Aircraft Center, Missile in the Missile Center. All buildings must be level 20
