What Changes for F2P in Season 6
Season 6 (Lost Rainforest) — fought across the Shadow Rainforest map — is, in two ways, the most F2P-relevant season yet. The good: Hero Awakening is unusually friendly to free players this season, with no paywall on the shards. The bad: City Destruction is permanent, which punishes careless free accounts harder than anyone. Play it right and an F2P account can come away with a genuinely awakened hero; play it carelessly and you can lose a city for good.
The season splits your warzone into two factions — Deepwood vs Wetland — locked for the whole season, with a neutral Great River clan holding the centre.
Season 6 has no Awakening Battle Pass, and the Awakening Shards are earnable for free — chiefly from the Hero Awakening Trial and from Global Expedition (the main free shard source). For an F2P account that already has a hero at 5★ with their Exclusive Weapon at Level 20+, this is a realistic shot at unlocking Awakening (the named-shard threshold) on a hero like Kimberly. Chasing a full 5-star Awakening (which needs many times more shards) is whale territory — unlock the first tier and stop there.
Note too that the season's Exclusive Weapon shards for its featured heroes appear in the regular Tavern recruitment, so save your Hero Recruitment Tickets for them rather than spending them earlier.
