F2P Season 2 Guide — Surviving the Cold and Prepping for Oil
What Changes for F2P in Season 2
Season 2 (Polar World) drops you onto a frozen map where the cold itself is a mechanic — and for a free-to-play account, temperature is the season's tax. Get it wrong and your base freezes, locking you out of rallies and teleports; get it right and you grow normally. On top of that, the season's real prize for F2P isn't won during the season at all — it's the Age of Oil off-season afterwards, where the HQ 30 cap finally lifts to 35.
So the F2P mission has two halves: stay warm and keep growing through the season, then be positioned to dive straight into the Age of Oil the moment it opens.
A frozen base can't rally or teleport — so keeping your temperature up is a survival prerequisite before any growth. The map gets colder toward the centre, and dropping below the danger threshold starts a short countdown to freezing. For F2P the good news is that the Alliance Furnace carries everyone early on — stay in its range, donate to it, and lean on it while you build your own heat. Don't push toward the cold centre until your own furnace can sustain you.
