Alliance Duel VS Guide
What Is Alliance Duel VS?
Alliance Duel VS is a 6-day competitive event running Monday through Saturday where your alliance is matched against another alliance, typically from a different server. Each day has a specific theme that determines which activities earn points. The alliance that wins the most victory points across the week wins the duel.
Participation requirements: Headquarters level 10 or higher, alliance must have at least 20 members, and only the top 32 alliances in a warzone can participate.
Save everything for the right day. Every speedup, hero shard, and training queue used on the wrong day is points your alliance cannot score. Discipline and planning separate winning alliances from losing ones.
Each day below lists exactly what to use today and what to save for later days. Follow the save/use rules and your alliance will always be competitive.
Victory Point Structure
Not all days are worth the same. Plan your effort accordingly:
Total available: 12 victory points per week. Days 5 and 6 alone account for 7 of those 12 points — focus your biggest efforts there.
Daily Reward Chests
Each day has 9 reward chests unlocked at increasing point thresholds. The first 3 chests unlock at roughly 40K, 150K, and 540K points. Chests 4–9 require progressively higher thresholds (660K up to 7.2M) and Alliance Duel research to unlock.
These chests contain Valor Badges, which feed back into Alliance Duel research — creating a compounding advantage. Performing well early in the week boosts your earning potential for later, higher-value days.
Alliance Duel research increases your point multipliers by up to 150% and unlocks additional daily reward chest slots. This creates a snowball effect — the earlier you invest, the more you earn each week. Prioritise this research path.
Day-by-Day Breakdown
Day 1 — Radar Training (Monday, 1 VP)
What scores points: Completing radar missions, using stamina (attacks, rallies, radar), spending Hero EXP (at least 660 points), gathering food/iron/gold from the map, opening Drone Skill Chip Chests, training drones with Drone Combat Data, and applying Drone Parts.
Use today:
- Radar missions (stacked from Sunday)
- Gathering marches (started Sunday, completing today) — gold tiles yield the most points
- Drone Skill Chip Chests — open ALL saved chip chests today (they only count on Monday)
- Drone Combat Data and Drone Parts — train and upgrade drones
- Stamina — attacks, rallies, radar
Save for later — do NOT use today:
- Construction speedups → Day 2 (Tuesday) and Day 5 (Friday)
- Research speedups → Day 3 (Wednesday) and Day 5 (Friday)
- Valor Badges → Day 3 (Wednesday)
- Drone Component Chests → Day 3 (Wednesday) — do NOT confuse with Skill Chip Chests
- Hero shards, EXP, skill medals, recruitment tickets → Day 4 (Thursday)
- Training speedups and general speedups → Day 5 (Friday)
- Shields and teleports → Day 6 (Saturday)
How to prepare:
- Stack radar missions to maximum capacity on Sunday — complete them but do not collect rewards until the day starts
- Start gathering marches on Sunday so they complete after the Monday reset
- Save Drone Skill Chip Chests throughout the week — open them all on Monday
Tips:
- This is a low-stakes day. Do not burn valuable resources here
- Focus on tasks you would do anyway — gathering, radar missions, drone upgrades
- Make sure every alliance member at least participates for the baseline score
Drone Skill Chip Chests (Legendary, Epic, Rare, Common chip chests) score points on Monday only. Drone Component Chests (levels 1–7) score points on Wednesday only. These are different items — do not confuse them. Save each type for the correct day.
Day 2 — City Building (Tuesday, 1 VP)
What scores points: Building upgrades (Tech Centres, Barracks, Hospitals, Production Facilities), construction speedups, dispatching legendary trade trucks, and recruiting survivors.
Use today:
- Building upgrades — start your most expensive upgrade right at reset
- Construction speedups — speedup through builds and immediately start new ones
- Legendary trade trucks
- Survivor recruitment
- Any completed building waiting to collect
Save for later — do NOT use today:
- Research speedups → Day 3 (Wednesday) and Day 5 (Friday)
- Valor Badges → Day 3 (Wednesday)
- Drone component chests → Day 3 (Wednesday)
- Hero shards, EXP, skill medals, recruitment tickets → Day 4 (Thursday)
- Training speedups and general speedups → Day 5 (Friday)
- Shields and teleports → Day 6 (Saturday)
How to prepare:
- Save your biggest building upgrades for Tuesday
- Stockpile construction speedups throughout the week
- Have resources ready to start upgrades immediately at reset
Tips:
- Use speedups to complete builds and immediately start new ones
- Coordinate with alliance members to stagger upgrades so help requests flow steadily
Day 3 — Tech Research (Wednesday, 1 VP)
What scores points: Technology research, research speedups, Valor Badge spending (especially on Alliance Duel, Intercity Truck, or Special Forces research), and opening drone component chests.
Use today:
- Research speedups — start your most expensive research at reset and speedup through it
- Valor Badges — spend in bulk on Alliance Duel research for the compounding multiplier benefit
- Drone component chests — open ALL saved chests today (they only count on Wednesday)
Save for later — do NOT use today:
- Hero shards, EXP, skill medals, recruitment tickets → Day 4 (Thursday)
- Training speedups and general speedups → Day 5 (Friday)
- Construction speedups (any remaining) → Day 5 (Friday)
- Shields and teleports → Day 6 (Saturday)
How to prepare:
- Save research speedups for Wednesday
- Accumulate Valor Badges and do not spend them before this day
- Save drone component chests — they only count on Wednesday
Tips:
- Try to align research with Arms Race phases to double-dip on rewards
Drone component chests ONLY count on Wednesday. Opening them on any other day wastes potential VS points. Save them up during the week and open them all on Day 3.
Day 4 — Hero Training (Thursday, 2 VP)
What scores points: Hero shards (class upgrades), Hero EXP items, skill medals (skill upgrades), exclusive weapon shards (weapon enhancement), and recruitment tickets (Legendary, New Era, Hero's Return).
Use today:
- Hero shards — use for class upgrades
- Hero EXP items — spend all saved bottles
- Skill medals — upgrade hero skills
- Exclusive weapon shards — enhance weapons
- Recruitment tickets — Legendary, New Era, Hero's Return
Save for later — do NOT use today:
- Training speedups → Day 5 (Friday)
- General speedups → Day 5 (Friday)
- Construction and research speedups (any remaining) → Day 5 (Friday)
- Shields, teleports, and healing speedups → Day 6 (Saturday)
How to prepare:
- Save ALL hero items for Thursday — shards, EXP bottles, skill medals, recruitment tickets
- Do not upgrade heroes or spend shards during the rest of the week
- Accumulate hero recruitment tickets from events and daily rewards
Tips:
- This day is worth 2 VP, so it starts to matter significantly
- Use all saved hero items in bulk
- Coordinate with your alliance to ensure maximum participation — every member should have hero items saved
Day 5 — Total Mobilisation (Friday, 3 VP)
What scores points: Troop training, training speedups, Training Certificates and Guidebooks, Bond Badges, Overlord Universal Shards, and skill badges. All other speedup types also count. Training activities receive a 4x point multiplier.
Use today — empty your inventory:
- Training speedups — all of them, this is the day
- General speedups — use every one you have saved
- Construction speedups — any remaining from Day 2
- Research speedups — any remaining from Day 3
- Training Certificates and Guidebooks
- Bond Badges and Overlord Universal Shards
- Troop training — use the waterfall strategy (train low tier, promote through each barracks for ~4x points per promotion)
Save for tomorrow — do NOT use today:
- Shields, teleports, and fuel → Day 6 (Saturday)
- Healing speedups → Day 6 (Saturday)
How to prepare:
- Save all training speedups for Friday
- Pre-train low-tier troops during the week so they are ready to promote
- Save construction and research speedups as well — everything counts on this day
- Upgrade barracks to unlock higher promotion tiers
Tips:
- This is the highest-value non-combat day. Go all-in with saved resources
- Coordinate with your alliance to ensure everyone is training simultaneously
Day 5 is worth 3 VP and has a 4x training multiplier. This is where disciplined alliances pull ahead. Every training speedup saved from earlier in the week pays off here. Do not use training speedups on any other day.
Day 6 — Enemy Buster (Saturday, 4 VP)
What scores points: Killing enemy troops, healing speedups, dispatching UR trade trucks, completing legendary secret tasks, and using various speedups (research, training, healing, construction). Points come from defeating troops, not just attacking. Empty bases give zero kill points. Points are also awarded for your own troops lost in battle.
Use today — everything left:
- Troops — send rallies and attacks against scouted targets
- Shields — protect your base when offline or between attacks
- Teleports — use Alliance Assaults tab for free teleport to rival server
- Healing speedups — heal troops and send them back into combat
- UR trade trucks — dispatch for milestone points
- Any remaining speedups (research, training, construction) — they still count
- Legendary secret tasks — complete for bonus points
Nothing to save — this is the last day. Use everything.
How to prepare:
- Train maximum troops during the week — you need them for combat and they generate points even when lost
- Stockpile 24-hour shields, teleports, fuel, and healing speedups
- Scout enemy targets in advance — identify bases with troops at home
- Coordinate rally targets with your alliance
- Remove troops from defence lineups if you plan to shield (prevents accidental troop loss while shielded)
Targeting members of the rival alliance in the duel gives a 5x point multiplier. This makes attacking your matched opponent far more efficient than hitting random targets. Use the Alliance Assaults tab for a free teleport to the rival server.
Tips:
- This is the most valuable day at 4 VP — it can swing the entire duel
- Scout before attacking — hitting empty bases wastes marches and earns nothing
- Never attack solo. Coordinate with 4–5 alliance members: teleport together, have one player attack while others garrison that player's base for protection
- Use the Alliance Assaults tab for a free teleport to the rival server
- Always shield when offline. A 24-hour shield costs roughly 20,000 alliance points or diamonds — far cheaper than losing your troops
- Focus fire on targets with the most troops for maximum kill points
- Communicate target assignments to avoid splitting rallies across too many targets
- F2P players can focus on milestone chest rewards through non-combat methods: UR trade trucks, legendary secret tasks, speedup usage, and garrison support while maintaining shields
Weekly Preparation Schedule
Arms Race Alignment
Since the November 2025 update, Arms Race phases align directly with Alliance Duel VS days. This means:
- Monday Arms Race phases match Monday VS activities
- A single action can score in both events simultaneously during alignment windows
- Plan your Arms Race participation to coincide with VS day themes for double credit
This alignment is a major advantage for organised alliances. When both events reward the same activity on the same day, every speedup and resource is worth double.
Reset Timing
- Events reset at server time midnight (UTC-2)
- There is a 5-minute countdown after reset before scoring begins
- Do NOT try to score points during this 5-minute window — they will not count
- Wait for the countdown to finish, then immediately start your prepared activities
Common VS Mistakes
- Using speedups on the wrong day — training speedups on Tuesday, research speedups on Monday. Save them for their themed day or Day 5
- Forgetting to save hero items for Thursday — upgrading heroes during the week wastes Day 4 points
- Ignoring Days 5 and 6 — these two days are worth 7 of 12 VP. Losing both almost guarantees losing the duel
- Attacking empty bases on Day 6 — always scout first. Zero troops means zero kill points
- Not coordinating with your alliance — VS is a team event. Individual effort matters less than coordinated alliance-wide participation
- Opening drone chests on the wrong day — Skill Chip Chests only count on Monday, Component Chests only count on Wednesday
- Trying to score during the 5-minute reset window — wait for the countdown to finish
League System
Alliance Duel operates on a League system with seasons:
- Each season lasts 4 weeks (4 weekly duels)
- 16 alliances are randomly grouped together at the start of each season
- At season end, alliances are promoted or demoted based on their ranking
League Tiers
Higher tiers provide significantly better rewards: more diamonds, Valor Badges, drone components, upgrade ore, synthetic resin, and resource chests.
Pre-Season vs. Regular Season
The first 2 weeks of a new league serve as placement matches — your alliance's win count and match completion speed determine your initial placement. After placement, final standings are based on total victories across the full season. Your alliance must score at least 6,000,000 cumulative points during the league to qualify for end-of-season rewards.
Season 4+ Changes
From Season 4 onwards, points are also awarded for using Armament Materials and Armament Cores (needed for T11 troop upgrades). This makes Tuesday an especially valuable day for investing in new technologies at higher levels.
